What forms of payment do you accept?

I accept online payment via Paypal. Please note that you do not need a PayPal Account to pay for your items through PayPal. You will see the option to pay with a credit or debit card WITHOUT having to sign up for a PayPal account.

I also accept checks and money orders but your purchase will not be shipped until the payment is received and has been processed.


Is your website secure?

Yes! The padlock you see on the left side of the URL assures you that each and every page you visit on Solana Kai Design’s website is a secure page. The site uses SSL (Secured Sockets Layer) encryption to protect the transmission of your account and credit card information. The SSL certificate is a protocol that creates a secure, encrypted connection between a browser and a server. This ensures that private information is protected.

In addition, Paypal’s online payment processing adds another layer of protection as Paypal has it’s own set of security protocols including SSL encryption.


Can I cancel an order?

I will accept cancellations in the first 24 hours IF the item has not yet been shipped.


How long until my package is shipped?

I ship packages (except for custom or personalized orders) within 1-3 business days but typically ship within one business day after receiving payment. Sometimes I can even ship the same day.

Custom and personalized orders depend on the complexity. Typically it will be a one to three week turnaround. We can discuss your interest and I will give you a firm timeline.


How is my package shipped?

All items are sent with either a Solana Kai Designs tag or earring card, wrapped in colorful tissue paper, and placed in a complimentary decorative organza drawstring bag. Items are then wrapped in bubble wrap and placed in either a bubble wrap envelope or a corrugated cardboard box, depending on the size and shape of the order.


What are your shipping rates?

Domestic rates: United States:  $2.95.  Additional items: $0.00

Domestic shipments are sent via First Class mail unless you request priority mail (extra charges will apply). First class mail includes a tracking number so you will be able to track the shipment and anticipate it’s delivery date.

If you would like to upgrade to priority mail, please message me and I will check with the USPS and let you know the rate. If you decide you still want to use priority mail I will send you an invoice for the cost of the upgraded shipping.

International rates: The cost of international shipping varies so widely from country to country that I ask you to contact me with your location if you do not see your country in the list below. Please include the items you are interested in and I will calculate the cost. For all countries, I ship via First Class mail but if you would like to upgrade your shipping, again, please let me know and I will give you the rate for the service you request. Additionally, please note: Import duties, taxes, and charges are not included in the item price or shipping cost. These charges are the buyer’s responsibility. Please check with your country’s customs office to determine what these additional costs will be prior to making a purchase.

For the following countries I ship for one flat rate. Prices are in USD.

  • Ireland:  $13.00.  Additional items:  $1.00 each

Local orders: If you come to my studio in Portland to pick up your order or we meet within five miles the studio, I will refund the shipping charge.


What is your return and exchange policy?

My number one priority is that I want you to be happy with any Solana Kai Designs purchase you make. Everything you see on this site is handmade by me. I do my best to give you all of the information you need to make an informed decision but please feel free to ask as many questions as you’d like. If, however, once you receive your package you are not completely satisfied please contact me within 72 hours of receipt of purchase.

Returns, exchanges and refunds are handled on an individual basis. Once we have discussed and agreed upon your reason for returning an item, unless there is an error on my part, you will be responsible for paying return postage. Any refund will be based on the item being returned in the same condition it was sent to you. You will only be refunded for the price of the item, not shipping. You must return the item within one week of receipt unless otherwise negotiated due to special circumstances.

Do you do custom orders?

I love to do custom orders. Please contact me with what you have in mind and I will let you know if I can do it and what the price will be. Once we have agreed on a plan, I will require prepayment. Again, please be aware that I cannot give refunds on custom orders.
